Why Century City Is Perfect For Solo Travellers
3 min read
Century City is the perfect location for many reasons and for every type of traveller. Solo travellers often choose Century City and Island Club – we’re here to tell you exactly why!
Safety
One of the main concerns when travelling alone is the question of safety. It is often thought that travelling alone in South Africa is a bad option, but at Century City that is a minimal concern. The area has a comparatively low crime rate. A zero-tolerance policy has been adopted across the City. We have security guards that regularly patrol, leaving you in safe hands. We are also committed to your safety at Island Club. If you are travelling alone, be sure to let someone at reception know where you are going and when you return for added safety – this way someone always knows where you are!
Century City – The Place To Be And Relax!
Century City has everything you can dream of – accommodation, shops, restaurants, entertainment, exercise facilities, conference centres, and the list goes on! With everything within walking distance, you have no reason to leave Century City if you so please. Canal Walk is a short walk away from Island Club for any shopping, eating, or entertainment you could want. Travelling alone in Century City also awards you the time to be by yourself and practice some self-care. Why not visit one of the many spas in the area? And be sure to walk the Century City Arts Trail if you are looking for an opportunity to relax and see some stunning art by local artists. There are also frequent markets worth visiting. With so many amazing things to explore, why ever leave?
Attractions Are Never Far Away
For those who want to explore the wonderful city of Cape Town, we are only a 15-minute drive away from the city centre. Here you can find local stores, restaurants, and attractions. Head up to Table Mountain and see the iconic view of the city, Camps Bay, and the Twelve Apostles Mountain Range. Or perhaps you are in the mood for some shopping at the V&A Waterfront? If you are looking for some nature, history, and art all wrapped into one neat parcel, be sure to go to the Company Gardens, where you can feed the birds and squirrels, visit the South African National Museum and Planetarium, and have a wander through the South African National Gallery. For those that want to explore further afield, Island Club is located next to the N1 and very close to the N2 for some great day trips. Here are our top 5 day trips from Island Club.
A Warm Bed To Yourself
And then, of course, we at Island Club have you covered for comfortable and elegant accommodation. With a room to yourself, you can do as you please. We have a buffet breakfast in the mornings; and for those that still need to work while away, our rooms come with a desk to finish the day’s work. Go for a swim in our indoor and outdoor pools or hit the gym to blow off some steam.
Solo travellers – do not fear, Century City is always here! If you have any questions or are looking for recommendations, don’t hesitate to ask our friendly staff. We can’t wait to welcome you to our lovely little city.
